From Yehudit to Yentl
From Yehudit to Yentl: Exploring Gender and Queerness in Jewish Storytelling
Continuing conversations from the daring, new interpretation of ‘Yentl’ at the Sydney Opera House, this panel explores queer characters, motifs, and narratives within Judaism and Jewish culture from ancient times to the present. Bringing together a diverse range of LGBTQIA+ Jewish artists and educators, this hour-long conversation and Q&A discusses not only the queer interpretation of Jewish text and art, but the intertwined themes and symbols that have been embedded within global Jewish identity for thousands of years.
Moderated by Shoshana Gottlieb, Torah scholar and creator of @jewishmemesonly on Instagram.
